Mr. Briggs has been playing guitar since 1974, and helped put himself through college playing in a number of different bands. He has an associates degree from Ricks College, a Bachelor of Music degree from Utah State University, and a Master of Music Degree from Brigham Young University. Mr. Briggs has been employed as a high school / middle school band director since 1985, and is currently employed in the Logan City School District, where he teaches instrumental music at both Logan High School and Mount Logan Middle School.He has been teaching private and group guitar lessons since 1985, and is currently teaching adult community education guitar courses for Logan City schools, which he has done since 2005. Mr. Briggs is active as a feelance trumpet player throughout the mountain west, and has performed with such noted artists as John Davidson, Shirley Jones, Maureen McGovern, Bob Hope, Mike Vax, the Utah Festival Opera Company, Utah Musical Theater, Northern Utah Theater Society, Cache Community Theater, The Harry James Orchestra, Michael Martin Murphey, Lex DeAzevedo, and Jay Richards; as well as numerous studio and television performances including "Touched by an Angel" episodes and PBS television. He has performed in Africa, England, Canada and throughout the United States, and currently enjoys playing in the Larry Smith Jazz Orchestra and with his own Funk/Blues band "Way, Way East Bay. Mr. Briggs is married to Leslie Parrish Briggs and resides in Richmond with his wife and five children.
